Women's Golf Ranked No. 22 in Latest WGCA Poll

The Southwestern University Pirates were ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division III women's golf in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Poll, receiving 45 votes.

Unranked in the WGCA preseason rankings with no votes, the Pirates have claimed two first-place finishes in two events to open the season, leading the Texas Lutheran University Bulldog Invitational from start to finish and placing three of the top five to win by 16 strokes.

A week later, the Pirates improved by three strokes from the first round to the second, overtaking Hardin-Simons University to finish in first place. Sophomore transfer Madison Goldberg finished second on the individual leaderboard, improving on her first-round score by five strokes to shoot a 74.

The Pirates will return to action on Monday, Sep. 30 in Glen Rose, Texas at the Squaw Valley Golf Club to compete in the Lady Crusader Invitational.
