Pirate Women Lead Field After First Round of Abilene Intercollegiate

ABILENE, Texas - The Southwestern University women's golf team shot a 308 (+24) on Monday afternoon to lead the field after the first round of the Abilene Intercollegiate at Diamondback Golf Course.

Mary Hardin-Baylor sits second with a 313 (+29) while Concordia (TX) is third at 320 (+36). Texas-Dallas is fourth after shooting a 322 (+38) in the first round while Texas Lutheran shot a 329 (+45).

Sophomore Emily Campbell shot a 73 (+1) as she sits atop the leaderboard after the first round of play, finishing with two birdies and 12 pars throughout the round. Sophomore Paige Greenan followed that up with a 77 (+5) including 13 pars to sit in fourth while junior Valentina Olivieri-Puentes shot a 78 (+6) including three birdies to sit in seventh.

Junior Katie Dyo sits in 14th after shooting an 80 (+8) while freshman Julia Wofford shot an 83 (+11) to in a tie for 20th.

The Pirates will tee off at 9:30 tomorrow morning with UMHB and CTX as they look to wrap up the final event of the fall with a victory.
