Coburn posts top five finish in spring opener

KERRVILLE, Texas – Keeley Coburn led the way for Southwestern with an 11-over-par 155 to finish tied for fifth at the Schreiner Women's Shootout Tuesday.

Coburn was just four strokes behind the event champion Kaycee Bankert of Schreiner.   

Mikayla Miller shot an 82-81 to finish tied for 13th and Valentina Olivieri came in tied for 24th with a 169 (84-85). Katherine Dyo finished in 28th (171) and Bernice Leonard in 33rd (177).

Southwestern posted a combined team score of 658 to finish in fifth overall. Schreiner won the event with a 630 team score.

The Pirates next head to Destin, Florida to compete in the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational. There they will face the top teams and golfers in the nation during the three-day event beginning on Friday, March 18th.
