Pirates roar back to finish tied for third

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern women's golf shaved 11 strokes off their first round to end tied for third place at the Alamo Classic on Tuesday. 

Bernice Leonard paced the Pirates with 151 strokes (75-76) coming in second place overall and the highest Division III finisher at the event. The University of Houston-Victoria's Heather Shake won with 143 strokes (72-71). 

Lauren Boone had a banner tournament was was not far behind Leonard, snagging a piece of third place with 154 strokes (77-77). Keeley Coburn posted an 83-81 for the tournament and finished tied for 17th place while Alexis Gonzalez rounded out the Pirate effort with 172 strokes (91-81) for 30th. 

This marks the end of the fall season for the Pirates. They will hit the links again on February 23rd as they compete in the Lady Cru Invitational to open the spring season.
