Tornados edge out Pirates 69-64

AUSTIN, Texas – Southwestern nearly erased a ten point deficit in final 30 seconds but came up just short to drop their third contest of the season.

Concordia had just a two point lead at the end of the first quarter but quickly pushed it to seven in the second quarter. Southwestern had a big rally that was capped by Zhazze Brown's three to give the Pirates a one-point lead 24-23 with three minutes to play in the half.

The Tornados were able to close the half on a run and sent the Pirates into the break down seven 32-25.

It was much of the same in the second half as CTX pushed their lead to as many as 13.

Southwestern falls to 0-3 on the season and return home to face East Texas Baptist University on Saturday at 4pm before a rematch with Concordia on Sunday.
