SAN ANTONIO – Tori Carraway registered double figures for the second straight game, but it was not enough, as No. 17 Trinity handed Southwestern a 60-46 loss Saturday night at Sams Gymnasium.

Carraway scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Audrey Garcia tallied a team-high 13 points and tied for the team lead with eight boards, as well.

Southwestern shot 32.1 percent (18 of 56) from the floor, including just 10.5 percent (2 of 19) from beyond the arc.

Trinity, which shot 40 percent from the field, never trailed in the game. The Tigers scored the first five points of the tilt.

Southwestern trailed 17-5 after one quarter and 38-21 at halftime.

The Pirates opened the third quarter on an 8-2 run, trimming the deficit to 11. However, it was the closest that SU was able to get the rest of the game.

The Pirates will host Centenary in a league contest on Friday, Jan. 22. The game is slated to tip off at 8 p.m. at the Robertson Center.
