Women's basketball picked to finish third in SCAC

Southwestern women's basketball was selected to finish third in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) in the 2014-15 predicted order of finish as voted on by SCAC head coaches.

Southwestern returns four of five starters from last year and boasts one of the most senior-laden teams in the nation with six seniors on their roster.

One of those seniors is forward Annie Bourne who is destined to set new records for career rebounds both at Southwestern and in the SCAC. She sits at 822 for her career. Southwestern's career record is held by Marjorie Gibson (1991-95) who grabbed 847 and the SCAC mark of 1083 is held by Austin College's Katy Williams (2006-2010).

2013-14 SCAC Champion Texas Lutheran University recieved six first-place votes to earn the #1 spot in the preseason poll while Trinity University snagged two first place votes to take second.

Southwestern opens the season at home on Tuesday, facing UT Dallas at 6pm.
