Pirates roll continues with win at Colorado College

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Southwestern posted a 78-67 win over Colorado College on Friday to move their win streak to four. 

SU opened the game on a 7-0 run and fended off CC's runs to keep the lead the entire first half, leading 41-35 at the break. Chelsea Leeder was unstopable in the first half, posting 19 points on 7-13 shooting from the floor, 3-6 from long range. 

The second half started the same way with a 10-4 run by the Pirates to lead by 12 three minutes into the game. The Tigers pulled within one, 54-53 with 12:29 on the clock, but SU manufactured another run to push their lead to 10 at the seven minute mark. 

Southwestern took care of business the rest of the way, closing out the win 78-67. 

Leeder ended with 28 points and 12 rebounds, her first double double of the season, while Bourne matched her effort on the boards with 12 rebounds and also posted 10 points. Lashelle Williams added in 11 points off the bench. 

SU won the rebounding battle 50-43 and held Colorado to 35% from the floor and forced 18 turnovers. 

The win improves SU to 8-9 on the year and 4-2 in the SCAC, moving them into a tie for third place in conference with Texas Lutheran. They remain on the road to face the sixth place University of Dallas on Sunday.
