Hot shooting Moravian hands Pirates first loss

GEORGETOWN, Texas – A huge first half was enough to give SU their first loss of the season as Moravian controlled the game to defeat Southwestern 83-70.

Southwestern opened shaky as they committed three turnovers in the first six possessions while Moravian took advantage, scoring easy jumpers in transition and led by 11, 26-15, with 10:54 remaining in the half.

Moravian was lights out from three point range, shooting 62.5%, and extended their lead back to 13, 36-23.

Valerie Logan took control of the game for Southwestern and set her teammates up for success with great passes to pull SU within five, 36-33 with just over four minutes to play.
