GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Southwestern women's basketball team dominated the second half, allowing just six field goals in the frame the cruise to an 89-58 win.

Both teams attacked the basket at the start of the game, giving the contest a track meet feel. Southwestern was able to build up a 16 point lead with aggressive transitions, but Centenary pulled back within 12 points with just over 10 minutes to play.

At the half, Southwestern had scored 50 points and led by 20 after a jumper by Annie Bourne as time expired.

Centenary came out of the locker room a different team and pushed back on SU, but the Pirates responded with an aggressive press to extend their lead to 21, 61-40, with 14:30 remaining.

The Pirates sealed the Ladies' fate on the defensive end of the court, forcing Centenary into tough shots and then securing the defensive rebound.

Southwestern dominated every category, shooting 44.9% from the floor and 36.4% from three point range. Jordan Owens led the way with 23 points while Annie Bourne added in 15 and Chelsea Leeder 13. Centenary's Vashni Sharp-Moore led the Ladies with 19 points.

The Pirates were +12 on the boards led by Bourne who pulled down 12 and committed four fewer turnovers (22-18).

SU improves to 15-5 on the year and 9-1 in the SCAC with the win while Centenary falls to 5-15 and 4-7.
