Alexander Joseph was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week after helping to lead the Southwestern University Pirates to a 2-0 record in matches played from Monday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, March 1.
Joseph went 2-0 this weekend from the No. 3 singles spot, defeating LeTourneau's Nathan Schmidt 6-1, 6-2 in the morning and McMurry's Zach Miller 6-1, 6-1 later that day.
The senior from Colleyville, Texas is 5-0 this season, competing exclusively in the No. 3 spot. Joseph is the third Pirate to win the weekly award this season. The No. 24-ranked Pirates are 5-1 this season. They will travel to Seguin on Thursday, March 5 to face Texas Lutheran University at 5 p.m.
