Pirates post 9-0 win over Colorado College on Thursday night

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over Colorado College on Thursday evening at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts. It marked the ninth consecutive win for the Pirates.

Southwestern (15-5) started the match with three straight 8-3 wins in doubles action to claim the early advantage.

The Pirates then swept all six singles matchups.

Haluki Nakayama made quick work of Brian Chen at No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win to put SU up 4-0. Nickoloz Snovely clinched the match with a 6-4, 7-5 victory at the top spot.

Grant Gideon needed a come-from-behind win at the third position (4-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-3]) to help Southwestern pull off the sweep.

The Pirates will hit the road this weekend, as the squad travels to Shreveport, La., for three matches.
