Men's Swimming Wins Both Relays in First Day of SCAC Championship Meet

SAN ANTONIO – The Southwestern University Pirates men's swimming and diving team started strong in the SCAC Championship Meet, taking the first day with a 112-90 lead over second-place Colorado College by placing first In both relay races.

The men started with a victory in the 200 medley relay with the team of Carl-Ake Willberg, Alek Argueta, Keith Gill and Peter Robinson completing the event in 1:32.40—the fourth fastest time in SCAC championship meet history. It was the fourth time the Pirates have taken the event in the past five years.

Southwestern continued its relay success in the 800-yard freestyle with Gill, Todd Coachman, Dylan Neumann and Robinson finishing with the second-fastest 800 freestyle time in SCAC championship history at 6:47.84.

Day Two begins on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with preliminaries in the 200 Freestyle Relay, 500 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, and 50 Freestyle and the finals for each event taking place at 6 p.m.
