Pirates fall to Tigers to open second half of conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Southwestern men's soccer traveled to Colorado to open the second half of the SCAC conference season and fell 2-0 to Colorado College on Friday night. 

Colorado College controlled both halves, leading the shot count 28-4 for the game. SCAC leading scorer Brandon Ogilvie scored the first goal fourteen minutes into the game, assisted by Trevor Houghton. 

It wasn't until the 71st minute that the Tigers made it a 2-0 lead as Ogilvie crossed the ball into the box and it found Nathan Andersen all alone who put it home for his first goal of the season. 

Christian Lopez, Andres Carreño-Mendez, John Wall and Michael Oliveras all recorded shots in the loss. Travis Carmichael posted eight saves on the evening on 10 shots. 

Southwestern falls to 5-7 on the year and 5-3 in the SCAC after the loss while Colorado College improves to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in conference action. 

The Pirates remain on the road to face Centenary College on Sunday at noon in Shreveport, La.
