MacKenzie Cowan started assisting the men's lacrosse team in her first year attending Southwestern University. Cowan, who is no stranger to the game played women's lacrosse in high school at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School and continues to be a part of the game with Southwestern Men's Lacrosse. "This team is like family to me and I can’t wait to watch them grow throughout the season" says Cowan. She also recognizes in her time helping the team, she has gained more knowledge of the game. "This experience has allowed me to learn different coaching tactics for lacrosse."

Cowan is now in her third season with the Pirates and is going into her junior year, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish and Exercise Sports Studies. Parents are Quint and Karen Cowan and sibling Carter Cowan, who is a Southwestern Men’s Lacrosse alum 2010-14.
