Men's Golf Finishes Third at SCAC Preview

BLANCO, Texas — Southwestern men's golf placed two in the top 10 to finish third at the SCAC Preview at Vaaler Creek Golf Club with a two-day score of 615. 

Christian Rodriguez remained steady, matching his first-round score of 75 to finish with a final of 150 to finish tied for eighth, recording eight birdies. Colin O'Hern fell off his first-round pace by six strokes, shooting a 79 to finish at 152 in a tie for 10th, making par 24 times. Hunter Holloway scored a 155 to tie for 17th, Nicholas Hoisington tied for 25th with a score of 161, and Thomas Kuznar finished 27th with a two-day total of 164. Austin Kelley, competing in the event as an individual, tied for fifth with a two-day score of 149. 

Trinity University placed four in the top 10, including three in the top five, with Daniel Nunez winning the individual medal to lead the Tigers to an overall win with a score of 584. Texas Lutheran also finished ahead of Southwestern with a score of 607. 

Southwestern will return to action on Monday, April 12, through Tuesday, April 13, hosting the West Region Invitational at Berry Creek Country Club. They'll return to Blanco for the SCAC Championships on Monday, April 19, through Tuesday, April 20.
