Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas — The Southwestern University Pirates men's golf team dropped one spot on the second day of the Schreiner Spring Shootout, falling three strokes off the team's first-round pace to finish in sixth with a score of 615. 

Christian Rodriguez was the lone Southwestern golfer to finish in the top 10 with a score of 151, shooting a 76 in the second round. Colin O'Hern followed with a 153, which was good enough for a five-way tie for 14th place. 

Austin Kelly improved by two strokes from the first round to the second, scoring a 77 to finish at 156, tied for 24th. Hunter Holloway shot a 158 (33rd) and Nicholas Hoisington scored a 159 (36) to round out the Pirates' lineup. 

McMurry University won the event with a two-day score of 601, paced by individual winner Lane Roye (143). Trinity University finished second at 602, Mary Hardin-Baylor finished third at 606, Concordia fourth at 611, and Our Lady of the Lake University fifth at 614. 

Southwestern's next event is the SCAC Preview held at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas, from Monday, March 22 through Tuesday, March 23.
