Men's golf ranked #17 in Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. - Southwestern men's golf sits at 17th in the nation in the Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll out Friday, August 28th. 

The Pirates earned a spot in the NCAA Championship last season and just missed the cut while Cody Hebert, who returns for 2015-16, drained a birdie put to win a three-way playoff to make the individual cut. Hebert finished the championship tied for 26th with a 297. 

Defending national champion Methodist nabbed the top spot while LaGrange, UT Tyler, Wittenberg and Redlands rounded out the top five. 

Fellow SCAC schools Schreiner (11), Texas Lutheran (16), and Trinity (19) also earned spots in the preseason poll. 

Southwestern opens the 2015-16 season on September 14-15 at the John Bohman Invitational in Seguin, Texas.
