Gammill garners second SCAC Golfer of the Week honor; fourth for SU

Southwestern has been hot this fall season as evidenced by their fourth SCAC Golfer of the Week honor in nine weeks. First-year Tyler Gammill posted his second conference honor after winning the Abilene Intercollegiate.

Gammill, a freshman from Austin, Texas, earned his second individual win at the Abilene Intercollegiate Tuesday, firing off a total score of 142, two strokes ahead of the next golfer to lead the Pirates to a fourth place team finish. Gamill's other top finish came in the team's last competition at the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University.

Gammill marked a 68 (-3) through the first 18 holes, the lowest round of the tournament, before putting up a 74 (+3) through the second day. Gammill's first round score ties for his second-lowest of his career. His current career low is a 65 that he shot at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational to begin the fall season.

Southwestern ended the fall season on Tuesday and will return to competition in the springs as they compete in the Linda Lowery Invitaitonal on February 16 & 17.
