Schmidt tabbed SCAC Hitter of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Southwestern University sophomore Colby Schmidt was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Schmidt helped the Pirates to a series victory against Huntingdon last weekend. The Liberty Hill native hit .333 (4 for 12) with a double, a homer and seven RBIs. He hit a two-run, walk-off homer to lift Southwestern over the Hawks in Friday's series opener.

Schmidt was named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week last Tuesday.

The Pirates (4-2) return to action Tuesday night against No. 20 Texas-Tyler (5-1).
