SCHEDULE OF RACES -  Athletes need to report to the starting line five minutes before their race for instructions.

7:45 AM - Packet pick-up begins
9:15 AM Men's 8k
10:00 AM Women's 5k 
10:50 AM Awards

ENTRIES

*All entries are due by Tuesday, September 3rd by 9:00 PM.

*Alumni / UCCS college students can enter and compete for free. College redshirts / unattached runners need to contact the meet director directly (see contact info below). In regards tio field size capacity the preference will go to college teams. Individual entry fees will be $20. Entry fees MUST be paid prior to competing.

*Team entries will be accepted on: Direct Athletics (https://www.directathletics.com/), under UCCS Rust Buster.

*The cost for each team is $250 (men and women are separate teams). If a team has less than 5 runners then it will be $20 per individual runner. We will accept cash or a check made out to UCCS Athletics / Cross Country. The entry fees go towards the park usage fee, portable restrooms, timing system and awards.

AWARDS

*Individual awards will go to the top 15 finishers overall in each race.

RESULTS

*All results will be posted as soon as possible following the meet. You can also check  Gomountainlions.com as well as TFRRS for all results.

PARKING, TEAM CAMPS AND RESTROOMS

The course is located in the north section of Monument Valley Park on the east side of I-25. You take the Uintah exit and go East on Uintah for two blocks until you reach Cascade (a stop light) and you turn left (North). You proceed up Cascade a few blocks until you reach Fontanero and go left (West). There will be a gravel parking lot at the end of Fontanero and you can park there as well as along the streets in the neighborhood. The start and finish areas are only about 50 feet from Culebra street. We will have a section of Culebra street reserved for team parking.

Additional portable restrooms will be set up on the north side of the brick restrooms and team camps can be set up anywhere not on the course itself.

 

THE COURSE

Women's 5k - 17:26.8 - Layla Almasri, UCCS, 2022
Women's 6k - 21:11.5 -  Zoe Baker, Colorado School of Mines, 2020
Men's 8k - 23:56.5 - Afewerki Zeru, UCCS, 2022
 
The course is mainly a 2.000m lower loop and a 2,000m upper loop starting and ending in the grass, but the rest of the course is crushed gravel / packed dirt.

Athletic trainers will be on site for medical aid if needed.

5k Course: 3k upper loop, 2k lower loop.

6k Course: 2k lower loop, 2k upper loop, 2k lower loop.

Same as the first 6k of the 8k course except it finishes in the grass west of the trail.

8k Course: 2k lower loop, 2k upper loop, 2k lower loop, 2k upper loop.
