GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University Athletic Department announced assistant coaching changes for nine of its programs.
The Pirates volleyball team announced the hiring of Sarah Palmer as assistant coach. Palmer, a native of Kailua, Hawai'i, joins head coach Don Flora's staff following a standout career as a student-athlete at Texas, where she helped the Longhorns to three Big 12 championships and the 2012 National Championship as a libero.

Southwestern men's lacrosse welcomed Daniel Moriarty to its coaching staff as assistant coach. Moriarty spent the last two season as an assistant at Alderson Broaddus, an NCAA Division II institution in West Virginia. Before joining the coaching ranks, Moriarty played two seasons at Adelphi, where he helped the Panthers to back-to-back national semifinal appearances.

The Pirates women's basketball team also announced the promotion of Georgina German to assistant coach. German joined Southwestern as a volunteer assistant for head coach Lori Morris prior to last season. She played at both Central Arizona JC and Marshall. German will assist Morris in all aspects of the program, including recruiting.
Additionally, football head coach Joe Austin hired former Pirate student-athlete Nick Mask to fill out his staff. Mask will coach the running backs in his first season. Austin also announced the assignments for his assistant coaches this fall, which are listed below.
Tom Ross, Associate Head Coach – co-offensive coordinator/offensive line
Bill Kriesel, Assistant Coach – defensive coordinator/academic success coordinator
Kenneth Eboh, Assistant Coach – defensive line/recruiting coordinator
Garrett Winsett, Assistant Coach – wide receivers
Chad Ellis, Assistant Coach – special teams coordinator/defensive backs
Southwestern's softball team introduced Allie Cukrov as its assistant coach. Cukrov spent the last year as the co-head coach and pitching instructor at the Chicago Bulls/Sox Academy in Lisle, Ill. She was a record-setting pitcher at Stony Brook, earning All-America East honors all four seasons and twice was named the league's pitcher of the year.

Andrew Diehl
was announced as the assistant coach for the Pirates cross country and track & field programs. Diehl came to Georgetown after spending two years as a graduate assistant at St. Lawrence. He was a member of the 2015 and '16 Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year and the 2015 Outdoor Coaching Staff of the Year.
