John Norcott

John joined Southwestern University in February 2018 as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. 

John comes to SU from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. where he assisted with football as well as designed and implemented year-round strength and conditioning programs for baseball, track and field, cross country, men's and women's golf, and women's tennis.

Prior to WSU, John worked at Wofford College with all 18 sports for the Terriers for the 2015 season and was a strength and conditioning intern with the Buffalo Bills throughout their entire offseason and preseason training phases for the 2015-2016 NFL season.

John earned his Master's degree from Eastern Michigan University where he was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. At EMU he helped implement and design the year-round training program for football as well as developed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for the wrestling, softball, women's soccer, and rowing teams. John also did an internship at Harvard University for the 2012-13 academic year where he helped train all 44 Ivy League sports teams.

A two-time All-Lone Star Conference fullback at Angelo State University, John also played one season of Arena Football.  He is a five-time National Champion Powerlifter through the USAPL Federation.

A native of Norton, MA, Norcott earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2011 from Angelo State and his Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in 2015 from Eastern Michigan. John is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well as Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Certified Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa).
