Women's Team Keeps Pace in Rhodes Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Southwestern women's XC was able to compete well in the Rhodes Invitational and placed 15 out of the 20 teams that ran.

Coach Andrew Diehl says the women made a good showing in their third meet of the year. Highlighted women's runner Val Acosta was the top finisher with a time of 27:01.62.  Diehl says that she ran great for her first 6k. "She went out aggressively and was tough through her first 6k ever." Trinh Ha (27:47.64 7) and Morgan Forteith (28:08.04) also stood out for the women's team.

This was the first meet for the women to truly see where they stand in the season. Diehl ends with the thought that "the race was a great experience for the women's team and we're excited for the next meet at UIW."

The University of the Incarnate Word meet will take place next Saturday, Sept. 6, in San Antonio.
