Pirate Women Place Third at Southwestern Invitational

GEORGETOWN - The Southwestern University women's cross country team placed third with 77 points on Friday evening at their home event, the Southwestern Invitational, at Berry Springs Park.

Texas Wesleyan placed first with 21 points followed by Midwestern State with 54. Concordia (TX) placed fourth with a total of 98 points while Schreiner rounded out the team scores with 116.

Freshman Sofia Garcia led the pack with a time of 21:02.0, placing eighth overall in the event. Junior Trinh Ha placed 13th with a time of 22:46.7 while sophomore Katie Harris placed 16th with a time of 23:15.8.

Rounding out the scoring for Southwestern was freshman Kate Killian with a time of 24:09.0 while senior Veronica Pardo finished with a time of 25:25.5.

This concludes the regular season for the Pirates and their next event will come on Saturday, October 28th as they compete in the SCAC Championships in Seguin, Texas.
