SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Southwestern University women's cross country team placed fifth with 139 points at the 2017 Saints Invitational hosted by Our Lady of the Lake at Windcrest Golf Club.

OLLU won the event with 26 points followed by McMurry with 61. Texas Lutheran was third with 71 points followed by Hardin-Simmons in fourth with 81 points to round out the top five.

Freshman Sofia Garcia led the Pirates with a time of 26:05.4 in the 6k event for a 14th place finish. Junior Trinh Ha was next in 21st with a time of 26:53.3 while sophomore Katie Harris placed 30th with a time of 28:10.4.

Rounding out the scorers for SU was freshman Kate Killian at 30:16.4 and senior Veronica Pardo with a time of 32:09.2.

The Pirates will take a week off and return to action on October 7th as they will head to Marshall, Texas to compete in the East Texas Baptist Invitational in Marshall.
