Pirates run well in deep field at Incarnate Word

LIVE OAK, Texas – In their deepest competition of the season, the Pirates ran tough races in their second to last regular season meet.

To lead the women in their 11th place finish, Emily Boujemaa posted a time of 27:19.1 in the 6K race for 87th place. Brianna Timourian was close behind in 94th place with a time of 27:40.0 and Danielle King in 98th place in 27:54.3.

Valerie Vacek posted a 115th place finish running in a time of 29:55.5 and Tori McGraw rounded out the women's outing with a 126th place finish in 32:41.0.

Alex Medrano led the field for the men, finishing in 57th place with a time of 26:55.9 on the 8 kilometer course.  Newcomer Abraham Devenport finished second for the Pirates in 30:17.4 and in 124th place and Kyle Bauernschmitt in 32:11.3 for 143rd place. Joseph Quintero posted a time of 35:27.6 for 161st place.

Southwestern closes the regular season at the Concordia Invitational on October 18th in Cedar Park, Texas with the women's race beginning at 8 am and the men to follow.
