Boujemaa continues great start with top 10 finish

ABILENE – Emily Boujemaa continued her outstanding first season with the Southwestern University women's cross country team racing to an 9th place finish Saturday morning at the Hardin-Simmons Stampede at Sea Bee Park.

Boujemaa earned another top 10 finish as she raced to a time of 19:29.30 in the 4800-meter course to finish ninth. She was the top NCAA Division III finisher behind a trio from UT-Permian Basin and McMurry runners – both currently NCAA II schools.

Danielle King helped the Pirates with a 21st place finish as she crossed the finish line with a time of 21:08.13. Close behind King was teammate Brianna Timourian finishing with a time of 21:27.03.

As a team the Pirates finished fifth behind McMurry and UT-Permian Basin who finished first and second respectively. Ranger College finished third as Austin College finished just one spot ahead of Southwestern.

Southwestern takes a week off before heading south to the Incarnate Word Invitational in San Antonio October 11.
