LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Southwestern University senior Lilly Duarte was named SCAC Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the league office this week.

Duarte placed first for the second straight race over the weekend winning the Texas Lutheran Invitational. She covered the 5k course in a personal best time of 19:25.87 to win the non-Division I portion of the Race.

She helped the Pirates earn a third-place team finish as she earned the fifth-best overall time behind only four Division I runners for UTSA and Incarnate Word.

The Pirates take a week off before returning to action Sept. 20 at the Ricardo Romo Classic in San Antonio and hosted by UTSA.
