Pirates Lose to Concordia on the Road

AUSTIN — The Southwestern University Pirates volleyball team lost its road match to the Concordia Texas Tornados in four sets, splitting the season home and away series.

Statistics were not immediately available due to technical issues at the host site but Head Coach Don Flora was available for comment.

"Tonight was about calibrating our serve and pass game and it took us too long to get to our good," Flora said. "We give Concordia credit for executing their game plan and keeping pressure on us. We must continue to develop our mental preparation and our ability to see the game and its nuances. We will work, learn, and develop for sure."

With the loss, the Pirates drop to 9-6 on the season. Southwestern will host the Our Lady of the Lake University Saints (10-1) tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.
