#5 Pirates Fall to OLLU on the Road in Five Sets

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The fifth-ranked Southwestern University volleyball fell to Our Lady of the Lake in five sets on the road in a Tuesday evening non-conference matchup.

The Saints hit .234 on the evening, including over .300 in the last three sets, while Southwestern hit .215 in the set including 61 kills.

"We had a great battle verses a very talented set of arms and team tonight in Our Lady of the Lake," said Head Coach Don Flora. "We needed to take care of a few defensive changes and blocking changes a bit more efficiently and this type of match will help us to learn for sure."

The Pirates won the first set in dominant fashion, 25-18, but OLLU bounced back to take set two 25-23. Southwestern battled back to win set three by the score of 27-25, but the Saints took control of set four with a 25-16 win.

The fifth set was a thrilling back-and-forth affair, but Our Lady of the Lake emerged victorious with an 18-16 win in the final set for the win on their home floor.

"This team continues to look for how we can sustain our groove and quality volleyball for longer periods of time," added Flora. "Making some changes and working on some different line up looks is always good to do in live matches and see how we handle change."

Senior Piper Sisemore led the offensive attack with 16 kills, hitting .400 in the match, while senior Kate Mitchell had 14 kills. Junior Jamison Duck finished with 10 kills and 18 digs. Junior Megan Grimes had 45 assists while junior Brandi Campos finished with 23 digs. Sophomore Brittany Hohlt had six blocks while Sisemore had five and Mitchell had four.
