NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Southwestern's offense was firing on all cylinders as the Pirates defeated Mary Washington in a crucial neutral-site contest.
SU hit over .300 in the first and fourth sets, winning both 25-19. A tough second set put the Pirates up 2-0, but MWU rebounded to take the third set despite Southwestern posting more kills in the set.
Kirby Kincannon was nearly unstoppable with a .536 attack percentage with 17 kills.
Southwestern (21-1) faces even tougher action as they face #18 Christopher Newport on their home court Saturday at 11 am CST before closing the weekend against Johns Hopkins at 1 pm.
