No. 9: Pirate volleyball earns 9th straight NCAA Tournament bid

For the ninth consecutive season and 12th overall the Southwestern University volleyball team reached the NCAA tournament and was voted No. 9 during the Top Moments from the 2013-14 School Year.

The Pirates finished 27-12 on the year and 10-4 in league play making a return trip to the SCAC Championship match falling in a memorable and exciting five set loss to Trinity.

Southwestern knocked off Mary Hardin-Baylor in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before falling again to Trinity. The Pirates and Tigers met four times during the season with three matches going the full five sets between the rivals.

Chandler Lentz, Kaitlyn Foster and Macey Pool all earned All-SCAC honors during the season while Lentz was also garnered AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades. Her all-America honor gave the Pirate volleyball team its seventh straight AVCA All-America nominee as the junior also earned all-Region honors.
