Lentz garners AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. - For the seventh consecutive year, Southwestern University has had a player named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America teams. This season, Chandler Lentz was an Honorable Mention selection.

Lentz, a junior libero from Forney, Texas, has been a catalyst for the Pirates this season from the backrow. Her hustle is apparant as she leads the Pirates in digs with 673, averaging just under five per set, while also leading in service aces with 33. 

Lentz was also an All-Region pick this season, and earned her second All-SCAC nod. 

The awards will be presented Nov. 20, 2013, at the NCAA Division III Women's National Championship banquet in Holland, Mich., where the 2013 Division III AVCA Player of the Year will be announced.  The NCAA Division III national quarterfinals begin Nov. 21.

Southwestern ended their season with their ninth consecutive, 24th overall, post season appearance. They fell to Trinity in the NCAA Regional Semifinal in an epic extended five set match to end the season at 27-12.
