SAN ANTONIO, Texas - After suffering injuries the Pirates have rebounded with four big wins including a 3-1 win over #12 Eastern on Saturday.

Southwestern kicked off the weekend with a 3-0 routing of Webster by holding their opponents to .122 hitting percentage for the match with their defense getting stronger with each set. The easy 25-22, 25-23, 25-19 win started a confidence boost for SU.

Macey Pool led offensively with 15 kills and a .312 attack percentage while Kaitlyn Foster added in 11 and Olivia Drummond 10. Pool and Foster also led defensively with 17 digs and 13 digs, respectively.

SU's offense was once again firing on all cylinders as their match got underway against Springfield, but Springfield was just a little stronger as they hit over .325 in the first two sets to put the Pirates down 2-0. Southwestern turned things up another notch and posted their best offensive sets with a .350 attack percentage in the third and .444 in the fifth to win 3-2.

Foster had a monstrous game with 25 kills, only two shy of the SU record, and just four attack errors while Pool was also outstanding with 17 kills and three errors. Pool and Foster also led in digs with lots of help from Kaitlyn Corbett and Chandler Lentz.

With lots of momentum and playing some of their best ball of the year, Southwestern faced off with #12 Eastern. Southwestern dropped the first set 25-15 but rebounded with three straight set victories 25-23, 25-22, 25-22 to win 3-1. Pool and Foster led once again but Kirby Kincannon provided great firepower with 9 kills and three errors with a .429 attack percentage.

To close the weekend, Southwestern narrowly dropped the opening set 27-25 to Redlands, but quickly bounced back with three easy wins 25-17, 25-12, 25-19. As a team the Pirates hit .187 and held Redlands to only .041.

Chandler Lentz and Macey Pool were selected to the All-Tournament team for their outstanding play over the weekend as the Pirates were just one of two teams to go 4-0.

Southwestern moves to 19-8 after the weekend sweep and have their final regular season conference weekend at Sherman next weekend, facing Colorado College, Dallas, Centenary and Austin College.
