KERRVILLE, Texas - Southwestern dropped the opening two matches before rallying back to force a fifth set before suffering a 3-2 loss to Trinity to open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The lead seesawed back and forth as the fifth and final set got underway until Trinity took the lead, taking five of the next six points to lead 12-8. Southwestern rallied back to pull even 13-13 but TU took the final two points and the match.

Southwestern was led by Macey Pool who posted 15 kills while Meredith Rollins and Kaitlyn Foster both notched 13 with Rollins hitting a team high .303. Nikki Welch and Lacey Strickland split assists evenly and Foster led with 27 digs.
