LAUREN BROWN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior middle blocker from Austin, Texas has been named SCAC Volleyball Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 25 through Sunday, October 31.

Brown led the Pirates to a 4-0 record at Southwestern's annual Halloween Invitational by tallying a team-high 47 kills while hitting .408 on the week. She totaled three aces seven digs and averaged a half a block per set.

Brown was named tournament MVP for her efforts, which included beating fifth-ranked Eastern (Pa.) 3-2 and extending the Pirates' winning streak to 14 matches.

Southwestern heads to San Antonio this weekend for the SCAC Conference Championship. They enter as the defending conference champion and will be the #2 seed in the tournament. Thier first match will be on Friday night at 7pm and they will face the winner of #7 Centre and #10 Oglethorpe.
