Southwestern Track Competes in First Indoor Meet

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Opening the spring season the Southwestern Track & Field team took a select group to compete in the Texas A&M Aggie Twilight Indoor Meet.

Competing against Division I, II and III schools, such as Trinity University and Texas Lutheran, the Southwestern Pirates were able to see the different levels of competition.

For the men's side, Sam Grubbs reached his career personal best in shot put, throwing 12.08m, placing 11th overall and scored third among D-III schools. Devin Rosas leaped 5.93m in the long jump where he placed 11th overall and was fourth in D-III schools.

For the women, both Jaelynn Stewart and Erica Robuck, who are both first-year competitors, competed in their first collegiate meet and had strong performances. Stewart threw 11.18m in shot put and finished 11th overall and fifth for D-III schools. Robuck ran 8.41 seconds in the 60 meters preliminaries and placed 14th overall and came in third for D-III schools.
