SEGUIN, Texas - Despite the frigid temperatures and windy conditions the Southwestern women's track team had a strong outing Saturday, finishing in second place at the TLU Bulldog Relays.
Morgan Gilpin led the way with a new school record and second place finish in the javelin. Her throw of 30.79 meters was just under .4 meters shy of the winning throw.
Jaye Ashley posted a second place finish in the long jump (4.82m) and triple jump (10.15m) as well as a top five finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.16.
Hannah Bruce also snagged a second place finish, bringing home silver in the hammer throw with a throw of 38.23 meters.
Mallory Harkins captured a second place finish of her own in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 1:12.44.
Southwestern has one final regular season meet before conference championships as they head to the East Texas Invite in Commerce, Texas on Saturday, April 14th.
