LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Southwestern University first-year Tori Carraway was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Just a week after completing her first basketball season with the Pirates, Carraway was a standout at the Marc Randle Classic in Bullard, Texas.
In her collegiate track & field debut, the College Station native won the triple jump, finished second in the 100-meter hurdles and placed sixth in the long jump.
Carraway posted a triple jump mark of 10.85m to win the event. She also registered a leap of 4.72m in the long jump. Carraway then finished runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.89.
Carraway and the rest of the Southwestern track & field team will return to action on Friday, March 25, at the McMurry War Hawk Classic in Abilene.
