Women's track & field opens 2016 outdoor season on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – The Southwestern women's track and field team competed in the Trinity Open Saturday.

The Pirates were led by a pair of top-15 performances by Kimi Prevost in the throws. Prevost finished 13th in the shot put with a heave of 10.05m, while she also placed 14th in the discus throw with a personal-best toss of 28.98m.

Brianna Timourian logged a personal best in the 1500m with a time of 5:02.35, which was the top time among NCAA Division III runners at the meet. It also was the seventh-fastest mark among NCAA competitiors at the meet.

Southwestern's 4x400-meter relay finished 12th overall with a time of 4:41.68.

Noorie Han placed 14th in both the long and triple jumps.

The Pirates will return to action on Friday, March 4, at the Marc Randle Classic in Tyler.
