Women's track finishes fourth at SCAC Championship

Southwestern closed the 2015 season with strong performances at the SCAC Championships.

Brianna Timourian highlighted the women's finishes on the track, taking second place in the 1500. Her time of 5:02.41 was just one second behind event champion Mariana Sigala who finished in 5:01.40. Emily Boujemaa came in 12th in 5:42.62 in the event and Sydney Lawson in 14th in 6:10.31.

Sara Cowan came in sixth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:10.20 while Zainab Oketokoun posted an 11th place finish in the 800 in 2:42.58.

The women's 4x100 relay of Kimi Prevost, Noorie Han, Cowan, and Oketokoun took fourth with a time of 56.37. The 4x400 (Cowan, Timourian, Boujemaa, Oketokoun) took fifth in 4:37.28.

Maya Adighibe earned her championship by a substantial three meters with a throw of 34.16 meters. Ellie Enis took third overall with a throw of 30.75 meters. Molly Campbell finished in fifth (28.79 meters) and Kimi Prevost in sixth (27.75 meters).

Prevost had a big day overall in field events, finishing third in the shot put (9.88 meters), fifth in the discus (28.75 meters), sixth in the javelin (23.65 meters). Noorie Han led the Pirates in the triple jump with a distance of 9.51 meters for seventh place and Cowan took ninth in the event in 8.75 meters.

Adighibe also finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 8.57 meters and Enis took ninth in the event at 8.44 meters.

Anna Hugel and Molly Campbell finished seventh and eighth in the discus, respectively. Hugel posted a throw of 27.30 meters and Campbell 22.82 meters. Hugel also finished fifth in the javelin at 24.15 meters.
