Women's Tennis No. 20 in Latest ITA National Rankings

This week, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its national rankings, moving the Southwestern women's team down from No. 16 to No. 20. 

Southwestern concluded its regular season and conference tournament with a 16-5 record, finishing as the runner-up in the SCAC. The Pirates have posted wins over several currently ranked teams, including No. 24 Denison, No. 25 Kenyon, and No. 30 Skidmore. 

The Pirates are also ranked fifth in the West Region, led by junior Nina Mitrofanova, the No. 12-ranked singles player in the region and part of the ninth-ranked doubles team in the region alongside Lydia Lee. Taylor Despriet is also ranked No. 23 in the region in singles, with Alli Ziehm and Emma Kesterson ranked No. 14 in doubles. 

Southwestern will learn its postseason fate on Monday, May 9, when the NCAA announces its tournament field. The NCAA will announce individual qualifiers on Wednesday, May 9.
