Pirates Continue to Make History in ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Southwestern University women's tennis team continues to make history on the court as they were ranked No. 4 in the region as a team and No. 24 in the nation. The Pirates also had numerous individuals earn regional and national rankings.

The duo of Kate Daugherty and Esther Bowers, who finished third at the Oracle Cup earlier this season, were ranked No. 1 in the West Region and No. 3 in the nation. Additionally, senior Nicole Wilson and sophomore Cecile Wilde were ranked No. 10 in the West Region.

On the singles front, Daugherty, fresh off her sixth place finish at the Oracle Cup, will enter the 2018 season ranked No. 2 in the West Region and No. 6 in the nation.

On the men's side, sophomore Alexis Dimanche was ranked 20th in the West Region.

After an outstanding weekend for the pair of freshmen, the duo, along with the entire Pirates tennis team, will move into their offseason and prepare for the upcoming spring season in February. They will open at ATA on the 2nd against St. Edwards at 6 PM.
