INDIANAPOLIS - Southwestern University first-year Mary Cardone was selected to compete in the singles bracket of the NCAA Championships on Wednesday. The tournament is scheduled May 25-27 at The Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Cardone, who was tabbed SCAC Player and Newcomer of the Year earlier this week, boasts a 20-0 mark in singles competition. The San Antonio native is 11-0 at the second spot and 9-0 at the top position.

Cardone is the first player in program history to earn a bid to the national tournament.
