SAN ANTONIO - The 28th-ranked Southwestern women's tennis team saw its 19-match win streak come to an end on Friday night, as No. 16 Trinity handed the Pirates an 8-1 defeat.
The Pirates (19-2), who lost their season opener on Feb. 3 and reeled off 19 consecutive victories after that, earned only one point in the contest.
Mary Cardone remained perfect in singles competition, as the freshman netted a straight-sets win at the top spot.
Southwestern will compete in the SCAC Championships April 28-30 in San Antonio.
