Drews-Jones picks up weekly conference accolades for third time

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University sophomore Taite Drews-Jones was tabbed Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Drews-Jones, who also earned the award on Feb. 21 and March 7, posted a 4-0 record in two Pirate wins last week.

The Minneapolis native tallied a 2-0 mark on the second singles court, both in straight sets. She also returned to the doubles lineup and teamed up with Julie Swets for a pair of victories at the second position.

Drews-Jones and the rest of the 26th-ranked Southwestern squad will travel to Abilene to face McMurry on Thursday. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
