LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University first-year Mary Cardone was selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Cardone, who also earned the honor on March 14 and 28, posted a 4-0 record while helping the 26th-ranked Pirates to two victories last week. She teamed up with Anna Schneemann to net a 2-0 mark at the top singles spot. Cardone also logged two straight-set victories in singles play, including one at the top position.

The San Antonio native remains unbeaten in singles competition, posting a 14-0 record this spring.

Cardone and the rest of the Pirates will host Austin College on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
