26th-ranked Pirates net two more victories on Saturday

LONGVIEW, Texas - The 26th-ranked Southwestern women's tennis team pushed its win streak to 14 matches, as the Pirates won two road contests on Saturday. Southwestern defeated East Texas Baptist, 6-3, and then swept LeTourneau in the nightcap.

The Pirates (14-1) won two of three doubles matches against ETBU and then posted four of six wins in singles play to clinch the contest.

Southwestern cruised in the final match, winning two of the three doubles matchups by an 8-0 score. The Bucs also netted five of the six singles tilts in straight sets.

Julie Swets and Maranda Kahl both tallied perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.

Stephanie Bartusov rallied from a frame down to notch a 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-3) victory at the third position.

Southwestern will return Georgetown to host Austin College on Friday, April 7. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
