Women's tennis sees win streak hit 10 matches on Saturday

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University women's tennis team saw its winning streak reach double figures, as the Pirates blanked both Texas A&M-Texarkana and McMurry on Saturday at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts.

Southwestern (15-4) posted a rain-shortened 5-0 victory over the Texas A&M-Texarkana in the opening contest. The Bucs then added a 9-0 win against McMurry in the nightcap, as the squad increased its win streak to 10 matches.

The highlight of the day included a comeback victory at No. 1 doubles for Emilie Moeller and Anna Schneemann. The duo trailed the War Hawks' top pair 6-3, but rallied for an 8-6 win.

Meanwhile, Taite Drews-Jones and Nicole Wilson both pushed their respective win streaks in singles play to eight matches.

The Pirates will close out their home slate on Thursday, April 14 against Colorado College. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
